A Snow Day With No Snow
It is so unbelievable. Ok, so not really for Northern Virginia. Friday morning Caleb comes in my room at the usual 7am and I asked him to look out the window for snow. A big storm was predicted. Well, no snow was in sight. We turned on the news anyway to watch for school closings and it came to Loudoun County, and can you believe it, School Closed. I was a little frustrated because that meant my plans for the day would be changing with all the kids home plus 2 extras. Caleb's response however to School Closed was, "Thank You America." How cute. They say for the kids to get a snow day, they need to complete all of their homework, wear their pajamas backwards and flush an ice cube down the toilet. It worked for Friday. The clincher for the day was that there was no snow, no ice, no rain, NOTHING. Having grown up in Alaska and having school closed only one day in 10 years for a temperature of -68 and too much ice fog for the buses, I get annoyed with school closings.
