Black Friday Date Night

We've got a great little gig going with several of our friends where we all swap kids on Friday nights (babysitting night), where one couple gets all the kids (9 of them to be exact) and the other three get to enjoy three and a half hours of quality sustained courtship time. It's the greatest thing in the world because you look at it like "hey, we can sacrifice one Friday," to get three more Fridays at no babysitter cost. Which is a joke out here...these babysitters charge like $10+ an hour.

Anyways, I was excited tonight when Sierra took me upstairs instead of going out to dinner and then shut the door behind us. She was excited too. There in front of me must have been 117 shopping bags spread out all over the bedroom. Needless to say, we spent the next hour, or two, pulling out potential Christmas toys and deciding what stays and what goes. It's funny, she didn't think I was into it...she said I was no fun. And ironically, I was thinking the same thing.:)

Babysitting co-ops are definitely the way to go. We do the same thing on this side of the country on Saturday nights. However, far fewer kids (6). Can't imagine 9!
