A Day at the Races

My brother Josh's wife Ivie got a bunch of free tickets to Meridian Speedway for Saturday night races.  It was fun, long and loud.  Watching a car speed around the track over and over again is kind of like riding a fair ride that goes around and around.  Especially on a 1/4 mile track.  The crashes were crazy.  They took forever to prep the track after each one which was a pain.  The best part was the end when they let all these beater cars they called hornets, race.  They didn't do any cautions.  It was like really fast bumper cars.  After this race was the trailer races.  They had beater cars pull all kinds of things on trailers.  They would race around and crash and burn.  (very redneck)  Pretty fun when it was all done.  Ivie was the trophy girl for the 150 race which her work sponsored.  Thanks Ivie!!
