It's
weird to write about my grandmas funeral after posting pictures from 2 weeks earlier. I just saw her. She was happy and healthy. My sister Cassi was in town visiting us. My mom called and said grandma and grandpa both had the flu but not to worry they were doing
ok. The next day, the flu was not good. My grandmas heart could not take it. She was not going to make it. They gave her overnight then quickly changed that to just a few hours. All my siblings except Cassi got to see her in the hospital. The
saddest part too is that my dad was in California and did not get to be with his mom. He has visited her everyday and now he
couldn't get to her to saw goodbye. My mom was the amazing daughter in law. My brothers gave her a blessing. Jen took pictures. These are her kids coming in to say goodbye. This other picture is grandpa holding her hand. I guess he just watched her and cried. They were married 76 years. As grandma began to get sicker she said, "well this is going to put a
damper on the party." She was always planning the next party whether anniversary or birthday she loved getting the family together.

She passed away quickly on March 18
th 2011.

The following week we headed to California for the funeral. The day of the
viewing there was this full arc rainbow right outside the funeral home.

The funeral was lovely except the snow you see here kept Jason, Josh and Crystal from getting to it. Hello it is spring. The weather was winter. The rain was
pouring down in Fair Oaks. J,J and C stayed the night in Truckee in the car
hoping the roads would open so they could get through. They were only 80 miles away. No luck. We missed having them.

My dad and his brothers with nephew Sheldon.

At the burial. My grandpa was so fragile. He was so emotional. When we first got to CA the first thing he said to me was, "I made a mistake, I should have went with your grandmother." You could see how sad he was/is. He had many people around him to love on him.

It was nice to be with family. Cassi and I sang for the funeral. A song called My Task. Grandmas request.

We tried to have some fun. We were all sad the rest of the family didn't get there. We made many trips to In and Out for burgers and fries. Grandpa likes milkshakes.

This is my first grandparent to pass away. The only other family members that have passed are my Aunt Nettie in 1985, a baby cousin and my Aunt Karen and Uncle Bob over 10 years ago. I am so thankful for the last year my Grandparents have been in Boise. We have never lived by them. It has been great getting to spend more time with them. I am so thankful to know the plan that allows us to be together again. It makes death easier.
