So back to school has been a little tricky this year. The first day was great. The kids all jumped out of the car and headed to their class. Day one-fine. Day 2, well a different story. Breckin wouldn't go to class so long story short, I sat with him in the counselors office for an hour and then left him there screaming. At 3 she called to tell me he never went to class and never ate his lunch and I could come and pick him up. GREAT!! Day 3- I left Breckin screaming after his teacher pryed him off of me. Day 4, I took him to his cubby and snuck out the back door. The cubbies are in the hall and the door went out the classroom. What a fun week. So that was the first week. This week Gavin missed one day and went in one late. When we get to school and he is just crying I have a hard time kicking him out the car door. He just LOOKS SAD. And me the guilty feeling mom just crys along with them. I am sure the teachers and counselor think I need just as much help as the kids. It's almost Friday of week 2 and we are looking forward to the weekend. Things can only get better. Moving is so over rated. I know we will be fine here but for now I continue to mourn the loss of our "perfect"lives in VA.

He is so CUTE I would probably be crying also. It will get better. I had to keep telling myself that when we moved here in 2006 and I had to take a map with me everywhere I went for the first 3-4 months. Everynight there was a lot of talking Nathan into going to class the next day. We soon got him into swimming, scouts, and soccer and he was doing great! Hang in there you guys!
I can mourn for you too! I know all to well the effects of moving, ALOT! New schools, houses, wards, it's all to firmiliar to me! I, after a few moves learn to love or hate it! It can be a curse also, because I now think that when living in on place gets hard or boring, I'm ready to up and move, which just can happen like that! Anyway, I know your doing an awesome job helping your kids adjust, and it will come for you too in time! hang in there!
Oh Sierra,
What Great advice you have been given, but FORGET IT! Just Face It...Get your bags packed and catch the next plane. The solution...just move back to good old Virginia! We LOVE and MISS You!
Speaking as a teacher- you know what's best for your kids! If Gavin isn't ready to go to school when the bell rings, bring him when he is. Lots of people might tell you otherwise but as a 1st grade teacher for a long time, I would rather the parents deal with the crying and I get to do the fun stuff. :) Good luck- hang in there! He'll be ok.
I agree with Shauna!!!
Sierra...Sad! I feel for the little guy. I hope this week will be better for you. We all miss you here!
That makes me cry! Like Shauna and Penny said, just come home!
