This year we were pretty lame about the Pinewood Derby. Gavin didn't want to participate so we didn't make him. Caleb was excited. We let the time pass us by until the derby was just days away and we didn't have a car. Well for those of you who know Pinewood Derbys, they drive me crazy. It is all about which parent can make their kid the fastest car. I think it is lame. I think the boys should have to make their own cars. Well- I attempted to cut out a car for Caleb to paint and in the process broke the blade on my scroll saw and since I don't have the little shop I used to have in my old garage, I couldn't find extras so I protested. I told Caleb to go find all of Gavins old cars. Well, he had one green car my dad had made that Gavin never raced. So you guess it, Snake Eyes became Calebs car. The derby was at the baptist church with like 4 other packs so like 120 cars racing. Calebs car actually did ok. As far as our pack, I think he was like maybe 4th for the wolves. That is just based on me watching the times. Maybe one day the Forstroms will win a Pinewood Derby. But PLEASE, don't hold your breath.
