On August 17
th Dave and Gavin set off on a father and son outing to the East coast. They started their trip in Boston. They left on a red eye out of Sea
Tac. They arrived in Boston in the morning. They spent the first part of the day walking the Freedom Trail. The big highlight was heading to
Fenway for a tour and then the Red
Sox game. We are big fans around here so this was exciting for both Dave and Gavin.

Down on the field with Kevin
Youkilis. :-)

Lego
FenwayAfter the game they drove a few hours to stay the night in Albany NY. This put them closer to the goal of Palmyra for the next day. They then drove to Palmyra for a day of church history. They visited the Hill
Cumorah, the Sacred Grove, the Smith Family home and more. We (I) thought that since they were going to be this close, they should spend the time to see these things and maybe even have a "spiritual experience".

Next they were off to Corning NY where they would spend the night in
preparation for getting to
Williamsport PA the next day. They were headed to opening day of the Little League World Series.

Final stop and the whole reason for the trip-- Dream Fields at
Cooperstown NY.
Gavins select team planned to spend a week playing in the Dreams Park tournament. The boys had a great time. It was a long week of baseball. The weather was really raining and ugly. They had a few games canceled and even played a game at 1:00 am.

The boys all stayed at the park in dorms. Dave
stayed in a scary rental house with some other parents.

Closing ceremonies and pin trading. Pin trading was huge. Gavin has quite a collection.

I'd say this in one lucky boy. Hopefully I can get
Dave and Gavin to add their thoughts to this.
